“Cancer is a difficult diagnosis, and most of us have known someone or had family members who have been impacted by cancer. As cancer treatments and therapies continue to improve, patients are now living longer with a better quality of life. During cancer treatment, patients encounter a torrent of physical, emotional and financial difficulties. Additionally, they may lose their ability to work temporarily, which adds another dimension of stress into their family lives.”  Sanaya Sturm, BSN, AMB-BC   Nurse Manager

Our greatest thanks goes out to these people at the cancer center who committed their lives to the pursuit of helping others. Their personal sacrifice is something we will never be able to fully understand. Without your generosity their hopes of making a difference would fracture. With your hard earned money broken dreams  turn into a valiant fight against cancer.

This will be an outstanding golf tournament for those who love golf.  The donors that don’t play golf will enjoy the festivities at the end of the tournament. There will be ample and convenient parking for the 110 players. The players will stop by our welcome tent. They will receive thank you gift bags containing items that businesses in town provided and items logoed with Alpine Insurance Brokers such as high-end golf balls, eye glass cleaners, multi-tools, etc. Follow the tunnel of banners that lead to the practice greens, chipping green, and the fantastic driving range at Haymaker. The banners will display a sponsor name with their logo. This will be a professional style tournament so there won’t be things like mulligans to purchase, and you will enjoy the fact that you won’t be asked for additional donations while being welcomed to the tournament or during play. We will be providing (lunch and dinner), open bar (no shots, but yes mixed drinks), a professional auctioneer (Parrish Terry), and live band (The EB Band). Expect to win a side by side/four-wheeler if you get a hole in one on the 17th green. There will be strict player rules because the winners will also enjoy prizes and recognition for their outstanding play. Handicaps will be required to preserve the respectable nature of competition in golf. The tournament will be a shamble (every player moves their ball up to the longest drive…the rest of the time you play your own ball). Do your best to speed up play.  We will give you a sleeve of golf balls so you don’t have to search for the balls that are highly unlikely to find.  If you get caught holding up play we will make you waterfall your beers and get moving. 😉  On a more serious note, enjoy yourselves and take the time you need to hit a ball because we are hoping for a 5 hour window to play the 18 holes.

Generous donors will be honored as hole sponsors, by cart decorations and announcements. At the end of the tournament those who had fun should stick around for the food, team score results, auction, and then band.  Expect wonderful auction items such as a week’s stay at a 6 person ski inn ski out condo under the Steamboat Gondola donated by Paxton and Susie Jones the CEO and CFO of Alpine Insurance Brokers.  For some of the auction items we plan to get creative and cater to those who enjoy a friendly gamble.  For example, a mystery box to bet on or drawings out of a hat awarding the lucky winner.  The EB Band will finish out the evening and we found them to be outstanding and  hope  you will too.

Alpine Insurance Broker’s appreciation will not stop at the end of the day. The community will be reminded of your generosity throughout the year. We want you to come back again the next year, but more importantly this is a big moment for the only cancer center in Steamboat Springs. When Alpine Insurance Brokers reminds the community of your kindness, we also generate awareness that a cancer foundation exists here. For every person who attends the tournament, there could be 10 others who don’t play golf that want to help.

In the last three years alone, Susie Jones, lost her father to cancer, Paxton lost his cousin and aunt to cancer, and this past winter Paxton nearly lost another aunt to cancer. This in itself was a dreadful experience for the benefactors of this tournament, but in addition to that Alpine Insurance Brokers has trusting relationships with each of their clients. When these clients that we rely on most pass away, it brings us all to tears. Cancer must be stopped in its tracks. It is not acceptable to watch the catastrophes continue. It is time to find influential ways to motivate the residents of Steamboat Springs to find the generous person that lives inside all of us, and make a real difference for those suffering from cancer in our beloved town.

  • It is the local favorite for one.
  • It has a striking resemblance to the many famous links courses in Scotland.  Designed by Keith Foster.
  • The front 9 and back 9 are consistent with each other and every hole maintains a high standard of professionalism.
  • Fairways are gorgeous and wide open making it excellent for the big hitters and friendly to those who are weekend warriors.
  • The sand and water hazards are in good taste and only capture the balls that were hit poorly or without proper strategy.
  • The course doesn’t have a bunch of blind holes
  • The course is free of homes so it is just you, nature, and the beautiful sites that surround the valley
  • The course is certified as a leader in sustainability by the Audubon International Cooperative Sanctuary for Golf.
  • The wetlands surrounding the course provide a lush environment for green grass and wildlife.
  • The club house is the most impressive in the valley.
  • Cody Hasten the golf pro was welcoming and didn’t flinch at the opportunity to help a profound cause.
  • It has the best driving range, putting green, and chipping green in town.
  • The services such as cart service, club washing, marshal demeanor, etc. are second to none.
  • The course allows for great access to your ball via the cart which speeds up play.
  • Golf balls are findable due to the course not being wooded.
  • Golf club rental options are high quality
  • Excellent bar and restaurant
